Who We Are
Emanating from diverse backgrounds, the team behind the Lookout at Lake Chelan shares a distinctive characteristic: Passion. A passion for place-making, for architecture, for design, and for community.
Director of Operations
John was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from The Ohio State University. After graduation, John built a successful career in real estate and hospitality working in nearly every aspect of these industries. John and his wife, Toni, lived in Tokyo for five years working for an investment bank prior to moving to Chelan in 2005 and starting a real estate company. Their son, Joey, now 12 and entering 7th grade at Chelan Middle School was actually born in Toyko. John and his family spend their free time participating in the many recreational activities available in Chelan including biking, golfing and lake activities. Joey's favorite sport is baseball in which he plays nearly year-round with Chelan Youth Baseball (CYB) and NCW fall ball leagues. John and Toni donate significant time to CYB through coaching, planning and concession stand operations. John joined the Lookout in July 2016 as Director of Operations and is excited to be part of the passionate and talented team assembled.
Director Construction & Planning
Marcus was born in Montana, raised in Bothell and attended the University of Washington. While in college, he began vacationing on Lake Chelan with a friend who lived here and has been drawn to the valley ever since.
After college, he and a coworker started a remodeling company in Seattle. They worked together for 6 years and during that time, Marcus got married to Erin and they had two sons, Dillon and Austin. In 2005, Marcus started his own construction company and began work in Seattle. However, change was in the air so Marcus and Erin decided to move from Seattle and brought their family and business to Chelan in November of 2005.
The last 11 years have been spent building custom homes, raising his family and enjoying the small town life and beautiful country in and around the Chelan valley. Marcus enjoys time with his family, snowboarding and coaching youth sports.
Marcus brings a builder's perspective to the Lookout management team and will strive to streamline all construction processes to maximize enjoyment to owners, guests and the surrounding community.
